ROSEVILLE, Calif. — The Roseville Police Department caught a person suspected of breaking into a bank in Roseville on Monday.
The burglary happened around 6 a.m. Monday at the U.S. Bank on Harding Boulevard and Estates Drive. The police department said in a Tuesday update its graveyard team responded to the bank Monday night after an alarm went off.
The person was gone when officers arrived and they found a person matching the suspect's description. He was detained after leading officers on a short foot chase. The Roseville Police Department said the man matched the description of the bank burglar.
He also had coins matching those taken from the bank on Monday, according to police.
The man was booked into the Placer County Jail on two counts of burglary and other charges.
The bank was closed at the time the man broke in since it doesn't open until 9 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m. during the week, according to police.
The Roseville Police Department is investigating.
