ROSEVILLE, Calif. — A woman was found dead in a Roseville home just after midnight on Wednesday, according to the Placer County Sheriff's Office.
When deputies arrived at a home on Livoti Avenue, they found the 41-year-old woman who had died. They are investigating the killing as a homicide.
Angela Musallam, spokesperson for the Placer County Sheriff's Office, said the call to law enforcement came from inside the home. Although she would not divulge the relationship between the caller and the victim, she said the caller is not believed to be a suspect.
"So we urge anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the neighborhood early this morning to please call us right away. we don't know exactly," Musallam said. "We don't know who we're looking for at this point and so any leads would be greatly appreciated.
The home is in unincorporated Roseville, about a block south of city limits east of Interstate 80.
Ashley La Joie, a resident in the area of the death, said it was alarming news to wake up to.
"I honestly didn't believe it at first, because the way it was running through my mind, it didn't seem real because we don't have as much home invasions or things like that, so to have someone be completely killed or something like that, it's awful, it's terrible," La Joie said.
