SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. — Election night is nearing for Sacramento County. The March 5 primary election could decide or narrow down a plethora of Sacramento County races, including:
- Sacramento County | District 3 Board of Supervisors seat
- Sacramento County | District 4 Board of Supervisors seat
- City of Sacramento | Mayor
- City of Sacramento | District 2 Council seat
- City of Sacramento | District 4 Council seat
- City of Sacramento | District 6 Council seat
- Sacramento Board of Education | Area 6 seat
Initial results will be posted by 8:15 p.m. on election night, according to Ken Casparis, a Sacramento County spokesman.
“The initial results will include vote by mail and vote center ballots that are returned and processed through Monday, March 4, 2024,” Casparis said.
The second update will include results from the vote centers on Election Day and will be issued by 10 p.m. with subsequent updates approximately every two hours until all vote centers have reported, he said.

► Key Dates: According to the California Secretary of State’s office, vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked by March 5 and arrive at county elections offices by March 12. The last day for county election officials to certify the primary election results is April 4.
