SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A man believed to be responsible for burglarizing liquor stores across Northern California is in custody.
According to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, it all started when Davon Devoe was stopped by officers for an outstanding warrant in February.
Detectives say they found evidence of additional crimes while doing a search of his car. The sheriff’s office says further investigation connected Devoe to liquor store thefts and burglaries in Placer, Sacramento, Santa Clara, Solano and Yolo County.
Devoe was arrested April 6 and a search warrant was executed at his Natomas home. Detectives say they found evidence connecting him to Organized Retail Theft and they believe the thefts have happened over the last nine months at grocery stores and drug stores selling alcohol.
