SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A 37-year-old man was killed in a crash on State Route 51 Tuesday morning, according to California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened on Route 51 near Auburn Boulevard around 7 a.m.
Officials say a 53-year-old man was traveling northbound and went off the east road edge of the freeway. He then went through a fence and hit another car traveling southbound on Auburn Boulevard.
The 37-year-old driver who was hit was pronounced dead at the scene.
