Community leaders held a ribbon cutting Friday to open the outdoor Downtown Sacramento Roller Rink at Ali Youssefi Square.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A roller rink opened in downtown Sacramento Friday.

Community leaders met for a 10 a.m. ribbon cutting to open the outdoor Downtown Sacramento Roller Rink at Ali Youssefi Square on K Street. The rink immediately opened to skating and school groups. It opens to the public starting at noon.

The rink stays open June 28 through Sept. 17.

Hours of operation are 2-9 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays through Sundays. It is closed Mondays.

Tickets are $10 for children 6 and under. All other tickets are $20. Admission includes skate rental.

HOF, a Sacramento entertainment company, and the Downtown Sacramento Partnership are hosting the event. HOF was established in 2008 and the partnership has served downtown since 1995.

“We envision this roller rink becoming a source of pride for our community, bringing us closer together as we embrace all the wonderful activities our city has to offer," said Damian Lynch, co-owner of HOF, in a statement. "We can't wait to welcome thousands of attendees throughout the summer, and our goal is to establish a successful model for this inaugural event, ensuring that the fun continues for many summers to come."
