SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The 12-year-old boy shot and killed in Sacramento Saturday was identified as Santino Joseph Contreras, of Sacramento.
The Sacramento County Coroner's Office released the boy's name Monday.
The shooting was reported around 6 p.m. Saturday along the 7600 block of 22nd Street, near Meadowview Road. The boy was found with one gunshot wound, but despite efforts to save his life, he died from his injuries.
