Sacramento homicide detectives investigate after shooting in south Natomas kills 1

Just before 1 a.m. Sunday, Sacramento Police Department officers responded to multiple reports of a shooting in the 3100 block of Buchman Street.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — An 18-year-old man was killed early Sunday morning in south Natomas after a shooting, authorities said.

Just before 1 a.m., officers responded to multiple reports of a shooting in the 3100 block of Buchman Street, according to Sacramento Police Department spokesman Officer Cody Tapley.

Upon arrival, police said they located an 18-year-old man with a life-threatening gunshot wound. Life-saving measures were performed, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene by fire personnel, according to law enforcement.

The circumstances of the incident remain under investigation, and homicide detectives were called to the scene.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity after his family is notified, police said.
