SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The 10th annual Capitol Beer Fest is this Saturday, bringing high-quality hops and boozy brews to the Capitol Mall.
From noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, local brewers get a chance to share a fun, exciting atmosphere with Sacramento's enthusiastic beer-loving crowd. Over 125 of the nation's top brewers are slated to appear, along with 20 food trucks that will be perfectly paired with your drink of choice.
Live music performances will also be in full swing, helping you settle your stomach before squeezing in some more tastings.
With tickets starting at $45, admission includes token-less beer tasting and a commemorative glass, from which you can leisurely sip as you walk directly in view of the Capitol building and Tower Bridge.
One hundred percent of the proceeds from this event go to the Runnin' for Rhett Youth Fitness Program, a non-profit organization that offers after-school training programs for aspiring runners in the Sacramento area. To support this fantastic cause, Sacramento brewing companies will be out in full force. Brewers such as Big Stump, King Cong, and Track Seven will bring several fan-favorites for generous sampling.
But the fest also stretches out to encompass much of America, with brewers representing everywhere from Alaska to Hawaii landing in Sacramento this weekend. There will even be some international brewers. From IPAs to stouts, you can be sure to find exactly your brand of beer.
Capitol Beer Fest has added a whole other block this year, bringing the event up to five blocks of good times and great beer.
The weather is expected to be a little rainy, but don't let that deter you!
This event happens rain or shine. In fact, it rained at last year's beer fest, and people still came out in droves! There's no stopping the energy of Sacramento's growing beer scene.
SacRT is also offering free rides when you present this flyer. Or, take the Amtrak San Joaquin train into Downtown Sacramento. Use the code V481 to save 15% when booking.
Free bike valet will also be provided by Sacramento Area Bicycle Advocates, allowing you to roll right up to the event.
Tickets must be purchased in advance and pricing can be found here. You must be 21 or older to attend this event, even if you do not plan to drink.
