2 men stabbed in face during Sacramento County attack, deputies say

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said they resuscitated one of two victims with CPR after he was stabbed in the face. Now, he’s in critical condition.

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. — Two men were stabbed in the face early Sunday morning in Sacramento County, and deputies are looking for a suspect.

Around 4:30 a.m., two homeless victims were stabbed near El Camino and Howe avenues, according to a news release from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office. A man in his 60s reportedly called 911 and said he’d been stabbed in the face, deputies said.

Upon arrival, deputies said they located a second man in his 30s who was also stabbed in the face. He was unresponsive, authorities said.

Deputies resuscitated the second man with CPR, according to sheriff’s office spokesman Sgt. Amar Gandhi. Both victims were transported to the hospital; the first victim is expected to survive, while the second victim remains in critical condition, deputies said.

The two male victims did not stab each other, and deputies are searching for a suspect, Gandhi said.

Neither of the victims was set on fire, however the man in his 30s was holding a cigarette that caught his shirt on fire, according to law enforcement.

"...No one was intentionally set on fire," Gandhi said.

The sheriff’s office asks that anyone with information on the incident call law enforcement at 916-874-5115.
