The Wong Center, located in downtown Sacramento, has been around for more than 40 years, but for many, its history is relatively unknown.

The building is one of Sacramento’s more uniquely styled buildings, with its pagoda-style roofing. It was also recently sold for $20 million, after lingering in escrow for nearly four years, The Sacramento Business Journal reports.

  1. It was built in 1973 by the Wong family, who retained ownership of it until its recent sale.
  2. The sale ends a long-gestating lawsuit between members of the Wong family.
  3. The 12-story mixed-use building hosts 187 units, most either studio or one-bedroom apartments.
  4. The building was last renovated in 2011, The Business Journal reports.
  5. There is 17,100 square feet of retail/office space on its first floor.
  6. The building operates as Section 8 low-income housing for the elderly but also includes 35 executive legal suites.
