SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A man allegedly armed with a metal pole was safely detained after barricading himself in the front seat of a semi-truck on Richards Boulevard, Sacramento Police said Saturday afternoon.
The situation began around 1 p.m. in the 500 block of Richards Boulevard, between 7th Street and Sequoia Park Boulevard, according to police.
The man was wanted in connection to a burglary of a nearby business. Police shot pepper ball rounds into the truck, which were initially unsuccessful.
Officers asked people to seek alternate routes in the area as Richards Boluelavrd was closed.
