SACRAMENTO, California — A bicyclist died in a hit-and-run crash in Sacramento, the Sacramento Police Department said Thursday.
The crash happened around 5:30 a.m. near Railyards Boulevard and Bercut Drive. Officers responded to reports of a crash involving a vehicle and a bicyclist.
At the scene, a man was in the roadway with serious injuries. He was later pronounced dead by first responders. The man's identity has not yet been released.
The driver left the area. Police said it is believed the vehicle is a dark-colored 2004 to 2008 Acura TL with front and driver-side damage. The Sacramento Police Department is investigating the crash.
