SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Blizzard the snow leopard is set to leave the Sacramento Zoo.
Zoo officials said Blizzard will be leaving in early October as part of a breeding recommendation through the Snow Leopard Species Survival Plan.
He'll be going to another Association of Zoos and Aquariums, but zoo officials are waiting to until he safely arrives at his new home before revealing anything else.
Snow leopards are an endangered species, and the SSP programs are designed to, in part, create stable populations for the long-term future.
