SACRAMENTO, Calif. — UPDATE: 4:35 p.m.
The Sacramento County Coroner identified the body found along the American River Parkway as Alex Holden, who went missing on New Year's Eve from midtown Sacramento, officials confirmed.

A body found along the American River near Northgate Boulevard is believed to be that of missing Sacramento man Alex Holden.
The coroner has not officially identified the body, but in a phone call with ABC10, Sacramento Police said they "have reason to believe it is Holden."
Holden, 25, was last seen by his girlfriend, Kennedi Perri, leaving his I street apartment in downtown Sacramento around 2:30 a.m. on Dec. 31. She told police he had been drinking and went for a walk after an "emotional" talk.

Although there has been no official confirmation from the coroner's office, Holden's father, Calvin, on Facebook posted: "They have found Alex he is deceased. Thanks for all your love!"
The condition of the body has not released, but investigators said they do not suspect foul play.
