Bradshaw Animal Shelter warns the community of a scam targeting pet owners

The scammers say they have the lost pets and that the pets need surgery urgently. Then they ask for money.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The  Bradshaw Animal Shelter says scammers are pretending to be employees of the shelter and are contacting people who have lost their pets. 

The scammers say that they have the lost pets, that they need surgery urgently and then, they ask for money for the surgery.

The shelter added in a Facebook post that they will never ask for money over the phone for lost pets. They advise if you get a call like this, it's probably a scam.
