CapRadio board reduced to 7 after more resignations

The resignations follow an audit that showed widespread financial and operations issues.

SACRAMENTO, California — Seven directors now remain on the Capital Public Radio board after four more board members resigned, Sacramento State University announced Wednesday.

It brings the total amount resignations to 18 following an audit that showed widespread financial and operations issues.

The university doesn't expect any more resignations from the current board. Sacramento State assumed operational control of CapRadio after the audit, but the outlet's news and programming have stayed independent.

More changes are expected as recommendations from the audit are addressed.

Officials are also waiting for the results of a forensic examination to pinpoint the underlying causes of CapRadio's problems.
