SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A brief police chase in Sacramento County ended early Sunday morning after the car that Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies were chasing barreled into a home, officials say.
According to the Sheriff's Office, the crash happened around 5:30 a.m. Sunday in the 8200 block of Spengler Drive.
Deputies first tried to stop the car after they suspected that the driver was driving under the influence. The chase lasted for a matter of seconds before the car crashed into the home, investigators said.
The family inside of the home was not injured. The driver of the car, who deputies say will be facing felony charges, was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
Authorities say the brief pursuit was within department policies.
