Casino invites former HomeTown Buffet employees to apply for new jobs

Thunder Valley Casino and Resort is reporting “many openings” and see the experience of HomeTown Buffet former employees as a benefit.

HomeTown Buffet, and dozens of other restaurants, abruptly close without warning.

Officials with Thunder Valley Casino and Resort are extending former local HomeTown Buffet employees the opportunity to apply for a new job.

Doug Elmets, a spokesman for Thunder Valley, confirmed the announcement Tuesday.

As Elmets explained, the resort and casino is reporting “many openings” and see the experience of HomeTown Buffet former employees as a benefit for them.

HomeTown Buffet, and dozens of other restaurants under its parent company Food Management Partners (FMP), abruptly closed February 5, citing employees affected by the closures would be given the opportunity to apply for positions at still-operating stores.

FMP officials said based on ongoing assessments of individual restaurants, it was “necessary to shutter locations for the continued viability of the brands and company’s employees.”

The company closed 74 restaurants with the announcement.

Those interested in applying for a job with Thunder Valley may do so by going to the website at www.thundervalleyresort.com or contacting the Human Resources Department.
