Nearly 6,000 people were at Concerts in the Park Friday night in Sacramento.
The event has been going on for 26 years, however the past five years the focus has been outside of music.
"We really wanted to grow the experience for music lovers, art lovers, everyone so the festival focus has been in the last few years," said Jordyn Anderson, Downtown Sacramento Partnership.
Jon Modrow and his son Isaac went to Concerts in the Park for the experience.
"He's seven so we've been going to Concerts in the Park for like six years," Modrow said.
Sara Scott started going to Concerts in the Park in high school.
"There's a lot more people," Scott said. "There's food trucks. There are more vendors. There was never any of this when I was in high school."
Organizers suggest being at least an hour early for Franz Ferdinand next Friday. It's expected to be their biggest show yet with the park at capacity of 8,000.
