1 person is dead after a shooting early Sunday morning, deputies say

The shooting was reported around 12:30 a.m. near Fulton Avenue and Hurley Way.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office says one person is dead following a shooting early Sunday morning.

Law enforcement says the shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. near Fulton Avenue and Hurley Way in Sacramento. When deputies arrived on scene they found one man with a gunshot wound. Life-saving measures were taken until fire personnel arrived and the victim was taken to the hospital where they were pronounced dead.

The shooting is under investigation by homicide detectives.
