SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A driver is in the hospital with major injuries after slamming into a tree Monday.
Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District says the crash happened at Scott and Latrobe Roads near Rancho Murieta around 6:44 p.m.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a man driving a Mitsubishi Lancer along Scott Road at high speed lost control of the car, left the roadway, overturned and hit a tree.
The driver was left with major injuries and was taken to a hospital.
CHP said it's not clear if alcohol and/or drug impairment was a contributing factor to the crash.
