SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A man, who officers with the California Highway Patrol believe was under the influence while driving, crashed into a car leaving another driver in his 60s dead early Sunday morning, officials said.
The deadly DUI crash happened on eastbound Interstate 80, east of Madison Avenue in Sacramento around 12:15 a.m. Sunday.
According to investigators, the suspected DUI driver, only identified as a man in his 20s, crashed into the rear of the other man's car. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of DUI. It is unclear what officers believe the man was under the influence of at the time of the crash.
