Flood Advisory issued for Sacramento area

The advisory from the National Weather Service is in effect until 10:15 p.m.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A Flood Advisory was issued for the Sacramento area as it gets pummeled by rain and thunderstorms.

The National Weather Service issued the advisory, which will be in effect until 10:15 p.m. 

Authorities said minor local flooding of roadways and low-lying areas are possible as scattered showers and thunderstorms bring heavy rain in the evening hours. 

The advisory includes portions of Sacramento, Sutter, Yolo and Solano counties. This includes portions of Elk Grove, Sacramento, Roseville, Citrus Heights, Davis, Woodland, Carmichael, Rancho Cordova, West Sacramento, Dixon,    Arco Arena, Rio Linda, Freeport, Parkway-South Sacramento, Elverta, Verona, Karnak, Florin, Laguna West-Lakeside and North Highlands. 

Additional rainfall amounts of .3 to .6 inches of rain are expected over the area through 9 p.m.
