Sacramentans pay an extra $129 per year for gas, study says

Naturally, three California cities made appearances on the top 10 list. Although, San Francisco barely missed the cutoff.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California can be an expensive place to live, and, if you're not careful, you might end up paying an extra $129 per year on gas in Sacramento, according to a new study from GasBuddy

The study says 47% of Sacramento drivers are overpaying for gas. GasBuddy found Sacramento drivers were spending an extra $2.68 per fill-up on average, which totals an extra $129 per year.

However, Sacramento wasn't alone in the top 10. Los Angeles and San Diego joined Sacramento as the California cities to make the list. Despite the California three-peat, none of the cities topped the list at #1, which went to Phoenix.

In terms of overpaying, Los Angeles ranked at #3, Sacramento at #7, and San Diego at #9. San Francisco came in at #12, a little more than half a percent away from making the list.
