Comedian Hasan Minhaj to perform 2nd Sacramento show later this month

Minhaj announced he will perform a second show March 29 at the SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center — three hours after his first show.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Hasan Minhaj added a second stop in Sacramento on his 2024 “Off With His Head” comedy tour.

The Davis native initially announced in November he would perform at the SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. Friday, March 29. Then, he announced Friday a second show at the same venue — just three hours after his first.

Tickets to see Minhaj at 10 p.m. Friday, March 29, are available HERE.

Minhaj is vocal about his love for California’s capital region. He attended the University of California, Davis, and is a Sacramento Kings fan.

He appeared during Game 7 of the Kings versus the Golden State Warriors in the first-round playoffs run last season and he threw a Kings-themed celebration for his son’s first birthday party in February 2021.

“Being a Kings fan, much like life, is filled with pain and suffering,” Minhaj wrote in an Instagram post at the time. “It’s only right that he learns that early.”

Minhaj received backlash for fabricating stories about racist incidents he experienced after The New Yorker ran a piece in September 2023 fact-checking parts of his stand-up routines.

“I just want to say to anyone who felt betrayed or hurt by my stand-up, I am sorry,” Minhaj said in October 2023 during a 20-minute YouTube video responding to the criticism. “I made artistic choices to express myself and drive home larger issues affecting me and my community, and I feel horrible that I let people down.”
