SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sacramento's historic Coca-Cola bottling plant on Stockton Boulevard is set to become a 151-room Marriott hotel.
Construction of the five-story 'Element Hotel' at 2200 Stockton Blvd. is expected to cost about $22 million, with a timeline still pending.
Stockton Boulevard Partnership Executive Director Frank Louie told ABC10 the back portion of the building was demolished and the front façade design remains.
Façade materials will include a channel glass, textured cement, wall panels, spandrel glass and wood screens.
"Element Hotel, which is part of Marriott Brand, will activate the former Coca-Cola bottling plant, will provide extended stay options for traveling nurses, medical faculty and visitors to UC Davis or Aggie Square," he said. "It's a huge win for our business corridor because it re-imagines the former bottling plant and creates a destination hotel gem."
The hotel will also include a fitness center, yoga room, pool, meeting rooms and a spacious courtyard.
Louie says the property's developers are currently in discussions with several banks to finance the project.
