SACRAMENTO, Calif — A Sacramento councilmember is making a call to action after she said a homeless person died Saturday night.
Councilmember Katie Valenzuela made the announcement on Twitter. She said that the death happened at Cesar Chavez Park.
She said that she'll be opposing a proposal on Tuesday that would take money from warming centers to pay for hotels. She said that she'd also be asking staff to about using vacant privately owned buildings for shelter.
