How going bald could help fight childhood cancer

Every year since 2000, St. Baldrick's events raised money to fight childhood cancer. It started with one event that raised $104,000 and has since grown nationwide.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Keaton Child Cancer Alliance raised money to combat childhood cancer by hosting a block party on Monday from 5 to 9 p.m. at de Vere's Irish Pub in Sacramento.  

The Keaton Child Cancer Alliance is an advocacy group that aims to support families that have children with cancer. The organization has raised $131,169 out of its $150,000 goal as of 8:55 p.m.

Every year since 2000, St. Baldrick's events raised money to fight childhood cancer. It started with one event that raised $104,000 and has since grown to events nationwide.

The organization raised $282 million in research grant funding since 2005, according to its website.
