Man found dead after Sacramento house fire

The Sacramento Fire Department said the cause of the fire has not been determined.

SACRAMENTO, California — Sacramento Fire Department responded early Saturday morning to a fire at a house on the 1900 Block of Iris Avenue, a couple of blocks south of Auburn Boulevard and Marconi Avenue. 

After being dispatched to Iris Avenue at 4:40 a.m., fire crews arrived at the fire of a single-story home and worked to extinguish the fire.

The Sacramento Fire Department reported firefighters found a 50-year-old man at the fire scene with obvious burn injuries from the fire. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Sacramento Fire Department. The fire department added the cause of death for the man has yet to be determined by the Sacramento County Coroner. The man's identity would also be released by the coroner when the coroner contacted the man's next of kin.
