CHP: Man dies after losing control of, crashing car in North Highlands

The man, 40, was driving a Honda Ridgeline at a "high rate of speed" along Watt Avenue and Roseville Road around 10:30 p.m. Thursday.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A man died after losing control of his car and hitting a light pole in North Highlands Thursday night, according to California Highway Patrol. 

The man, 40, was driving a Honda Ridgeline at a "high rate of speed" along Watt Avenue and Roseville Road around 10:30 p.m. when he lost control, hit a light pole and parking lot signs, rolled over and blocked part of a nearby drive-thru, according to CHP.

Officials say the man was ejected from the car as it rolled over. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

The cause of the crash is under investigation and no other information is currently known.
