SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A motorcyclist died Sunday after a crash in Midtown Sacramento.
Just before 12 p.m., officers responded to the area of 24th and J streets regarding a report of a vehicle versus motorcycle collision, according to Sacramento Police Department spokeswoman Officer Allison Smith.
The motorcyclist succumbed to injuries they suffered in the crash after being taken to the hospital, Smith said.
At approximately 12:45 p.m., the department said on X, formerly Twitter, the road is closed in the area, and motorists should plan an alternate route. Just before 1 p.m., Smith said officers are still on scene investigating the collision.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity after their family has been notified.
