NORTH HIGHLANDS, Calif. — A man died after a shooting at a business park in North Highlands on Monday.
The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office received reports of a shooting along Myrtle Avenue near Roseville Road.
Sgt. Amar Gandhi, the spokesperson for the sheriff's office, said the call came in around 2:15 a.m. and initially went to California Highway Patrol. When officers arrived they found a man with a gunshot wound and deputies arrived moments later.
"Unfortunately, again, a lot of peculiar circumstances here behind the business complex, a little bit off the beaten path. But, right now, we've got an adult male victim and that's really all we have at this point," Gandhi said.
The man's identity hasn't been released and there is no information on a possible shooter, according to the sheriff's office. The events leading up to the shooting are unclear. The shooting is being investigated as a homicide, according to Gandhi.
This is a developing story and will be updated as we learn more.
