SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. — A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash in North Highlands Thursday night.
Crews responded to reports of a person hit around 9:30 p.m. on Elkhorn Boulevard at Walerga Road. A person crossed the street in the crosswalk while the light for the opposite traffic was green and was hit by a car. The person died at the scene. The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District said the vehicle left the area.
The person's identity hasn't been released but California Highway Patrol described her as a woman in her 40s. The crash is under investigation.
