SACRAMENTO, Calif. — One person is dead after being hit by a train in the Foothill Farms area of Sacramento, not far from North Highlands.
According to Meg Ronspies, spokesperson for Union Pacific, one of their trains hit a person near Roseville Road and Walerga Road around 4:30 p.m. None of the train crew was hurt in the collision.
A spokesperson for the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District confirmed the collision was fatal.
Union Pacific is handling the investigation. No additional details were released.
