Rio Linda 7-Eleven looting video shows nearby sideshow participants vandalizing store

Sacramento County Sheriff's Office officials say they need help identifying dozens of suspects who broke off from a nearby sideshow to loot the convenience store.

SACRAMENTO, California — Sacramento County Sheriff's Office detectives released security footage Friday showing dozens of people looting a 7-Eleven in Rio Linda Oct. 8 and are now asking the public for help identifying them.

Police say the convenience store on Elkhorn Boulevard was ransacked and vandalized by people between the ages of 14 and 20 after a nearby sideshow.

Detectives believe some of the estimated 40 to 50 suspects caught on video are from the Bay Area.

Spokesperson for the sheriff's office Sgt. Amar Gandhi said because the lootings were nonviolent, most suspects will receive citations rather than jail time if they're caught.
