Sacramento City Council Races: Dickinson, Pluckebaum, Guerra take early leads

If no candidate gets more than 50% of the vote in the primary election, the top two candidates will have a showdown in the November election.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — As ballots are counted, results are slowly trickling in for Sacramento city council districts 2, 4 and 6

Roger Dickinson has an early lead in District 2, according to unofficial results released by the Sacramento County registrar's office. Phil Pluckebaum has an early lead in District 4, and incumbent Eric Guerra has an early lead in District 6.

Districts 4 and 6 have Katie Valenzuela and Eric Guerra, respectively, trying to secure another term on the dais while District 2 is wide open with no incumbent candidate following the resignation of Sean Loloee.

If no candidate gets more than 50% of the vote in the primary election, the top two candidates will have a showdown in the November election.

Updates will be provided approximately every two hours until all vote centers have reported their ballots. 

Votes will be counted in the next few weeks. Vote-by-mail ballots have to be postmarked by March 5 and arrive at county elections office by March 12 to count. The last day for county elections offices to certify the election results is April 4.
