SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Officers are investigating after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in Sacramento Wednesday.
The California Highway Patrol said the crash happened along Watt Avenue near Longview Drive around 5:30 a.m. Based on the initial investigation, the person was running across the intersection while the traffic light was green. The pedestrian was only identified as a homeless man in his 50s, according to California Highway Patrol.
The pedestrian was hospitalized and is in critical condition, according to law enforcement.
The driver stayed at the scene. The crash is under investigation.
