SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The GoldenSky country music festival will return to Sacramento’s Discovery Park this weekend. The first act takes the stage at 1:05 p.m. Saturday.
This marks the second year for the festival in California’s capital city, and organizers are expecting to welcome 30,000 visitors over the two-day event.
“Sacramento is a true destination city,” Chammie McCurry, who organizers both GoldenSky and Aftershock, said. “It’s really becoming a staple for artists, festivals, and music. Musicians like to come here because there's so many great amenities and just really great people here that have welcomed us with open arms.”
Top headliners this year include country artists Eric Church, Maren Morris, Parker McCollum Wynonna Judd, and Dixon’s own Jon Pardi.
Two stages are set up this year: the Jack Daniels Stage and the Visit Sacramento Stage, where 25 artists in total will perform.

The event will feature food and brews from local vendors, giving visitors a true farm-to-fork experience. They can even indulge in a GoldenSky Beer Festival at the park.
The outdoor concert series comes on the heels of Aftershock, an annual hard rock music festival that welcomed 160,000 visitors last weekend at Discovery Park and brought in $30 million for the local economy.
Organizers of GoldenSky said they are already planning next year’s lineup for Sacramento spectators and look forward to the economic benefits it will bring to the entire region.
“Destination festivals are really great economic boosters,” McCurry said. “The tourism that comes in, the sold-out hotel nights, airport traffic, rental car, and then not to mention, the local bars and restaurants and businesses that benefit from guests coming in town and guests wanting to have a full all-encompassing experience. Plus, we hire locally so you know, the economic impact that these large events bring is just immeasurable and then just putting it on the map as a destination festival city.”
A single-day ticket costs around $100 and a two-day pass is around $150 with fees. VIP tickets are sold out.
