SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Another packed house at Heart Health Park helped ring in Sacramento Republic FC’s 2024 season.
Fans are excited and optimistic about what is in store for the new season. Starting from tailgate to the pitch, bringing together good food, friends, and football.
“I am excited,” said Scott Brewer, a lifelong fan.
“I am excited to finally get back out here,” said Ron Klint, also a lifelong fan.
The diehards sang and chanted for 90 minutes as Republic FC kicked off the season against the Orange County SC. The passionate fanbase coming in droves and creating a vibrant atmosphere.
“I am excited to see what our future holds,” said Kyle Brewer, a Republic FC fan.
The season opener comes four months after a heartbreaking loss in the Western Conference Finals. But last season was a memorable one that saw the club reach new milestones, in scoring, shutouts, and eight sellouts which saw more than 200,000 total fans support the team.
“The league is in itself a good display of what American soccer [is],” said Scott Brewer.
On opening night, new players like Trevor Amann gave fans something to cheer about with his two goals.
The game ended 2-2. Earning a point for the standings. Fans hope it is one of many points this year that can mark another successful season.
“I want to see another Western Conference championship but if not points leader for the season,” said Scott Brewer.
Republic FC will be back in action next Sunday at Miami FC.
