SACRAMENTO, Calif. — An eight-year-old girl was critically injured during a shooting in Sacramento early Tuesday morning.
The Sacramento Police Department got reports of a shooting around 4:45 a.m. along the 2600 block of Kit Carson Street. It's near Revere Street.
A spokesperson for the police department says it's early in the investigation but officers found an eight-year-old girl with a gunshot wound. She was taken to a hospital and was alert and talking but is now fighting for her life, according to police.
The girl's name hasn't been released.
It's unclear what led up to the shooting. The shooting is under investigation.
