SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sacramento State police are searching for six people accused of assaulting a man and taking his phone, according to officials.
The man, a student at the university, was assaulted by six people around 5:50 p.m. Monday just outside of Klamath Hall on campus, police say.
The next day, police say they learned a suspect took the victim's phone during the attack.
Sacramento State Police Department officers are investigating and are asking anyone with information about this case to call them at 916-278-6000. Police say people can reduce personal risk of crimes by:
- Being an active bystander
- Have police's dispatch number remembered or easy to dial: 916-278-6000
- Know where the nearest "blue phones" on campus are
- Use the Hornet Night Shuttle by contacting 916-278-7260, or request an escort by campus police when walking late at night
- Be aware of your surroundings
- Make noise if/when attacked to grab passersby attention
