SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Two crashes are causing severe delays along westbound Interstate 80 in Sacramento on Thursday.
A big rig overturned before 4 a.m. on southbound Capital City Freeway near Watt Avenue and spilled eggs blocking the road, according to California Highway Patrol. It closed the onramp for a couple of hours and a lane has since reopened. There are still ongoing delays along the road as crews work to clean up the truck. No injuries have been reported.
A second crash happened around 6:30 a.m. along westbound I-80 in Sacramento near the Capital City Freeway split further impacting traffic in the area.
To avoid traffic, drivers can take Elkhorn Boulevard to Watt Avenue. To get to Highway 50, people can take Greenback Lane to Sunrise Boulevard.
