Salt & Straw's November Flavors
Parker House Rolls w/ Salted Buttercream
Every good Thanksgiving meal has to include a warm, buttery roll.
"King's Hawaiian rolls, to be exact, lightly toasted and topped with flaky sea salt, then gently folded into sweet salted butter ice cream to double down on the savory. That's what makes this simple side so exciting every year," according to Salt & Straw's website.
Cheesy Potato Casserole
Whether you know this dish as party potatoes or funeral potatoes, you might need more than a few bites of this sweet and salty combination.
"Start with a simple, salted vanilla ice cream base, stir in savory potato cheesecake and shotgun with crispy cornflake crumble. Every bite reminds you of a sweet cornflakey casserole," according to Salt & Straw's website.
Turkey Stuffing & Cranberry Sauce
Now on to the main event.
"Turkey stuffing made with baked brioche bread pudding and turkey sausage that’s cooked to a crumble with black pepper, rosemary, sage and thyme. Juicy, spicy, and irresistible come together in every scoop—laced with just the right touch of cinnamon, brown sugar, and a streak of tart cranberry sauce," according to Salt & Straw's website.
Mom's Mango Pie
This may not be on everyone's Thanksgiving menu, but it's sure to bring a tropical twist into the mix. Salt & Straw says it's thankful to podcaster Hrishikesh Hirway and his mother as her secret mango pie filling recipe translates to ice cream.
"We blend a mango mawa (like a cooked-down milk dulce de leche; Alphonso mangos are critical) with tangy cream cheese and fluffy whipped cream to make a silky sweet curd. Crumbles of salty graham cracker crust are layered in rich, mango ice cream for a lovely cultural mash-up that’s gathering more fans every year," according to Salt & Straw's website.
Pie Pumpkin & Gingersnap Pie (v)
Vegan ice cream lovers rejoice for this sweet treat is made with coconut milk.
"We spike our quiet and ultra-creamy coconut cream with a heavy pinch of sea salt and allspice for a warmer, more complex flavor. Combining this secret blend with Vermont maple syrup gives you the silkiest, custardiest of pumpkin pies, with bits of molasses-spiked gingersnap pie crust tossed in for a delectable crunch," according to Salt & Straw's website.
