SACRAMENTO, Calif — A man is dead after being hit by a car near the South Natomas area.
The Sacramento Police Department said the collision was reported in the area of San Juan Road and Airport Road around 6:30 p.m.
Police said fire personnel tried to save the man's life, but he was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver involved in the collision stayed at the scene.

Airport Road and San Juan Road between Duckhorn and Azevedo Drive were closed while the investigation was underway but have since reopened.
