Stephon's House in Sacramento was burglarized early Wednesday morning, according to the I Am Sac Foundation.

In a news release, the foundation said the building was damaged and items worth thousands of dollars were stolen.

"I just couldn’t believe that this happened to us three days before the birthday of my brother. Stephon’s birthday is coming up Aug. 10,” said Stevante Clark, brother of Stephon Clark.

Stephon's House was built in memory of Stephon Clark, who was killed in his grandmother's backyard by Sacramento police officers in 2018. The building is used to help provide families with a safe place to gather housing resources, education, food, clothing, shelter and more.

“This is like a church. This is a safe space. You come in here. You steal video games. You bust our window. It’s disrespectful to the life and legacy of Stephon Clark. This building is for people who lost their children. Mothers who lost their children. People like me. People who lost their brother. Every Sunday we do Stephon Clark Sunday here,” Clark said.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to come forward. Additional information can be found HERE.
