SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif — A man accused of breaking into a house and stealing a car was arrested after leading Sacramento County deputies on a chase Friday.
The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office says it received a call at 3 p.m. about a man breaking into a house on the 7200 block of Chandler Drive.
Officials said the man was not successful in breaking into the home and was shot at by the homeowner. The sheriff's office couldn't confirm if the suspect was actually hit by gunfire.
After unsuccessfully getting into the house, the sheriff's office said the man broke into a neighbor's home and stole a car from their garage.
Deputies then chased the suspect which ended with the vehicle hitting spike strips near Highway 99 and Arno Road north of Galt. The suspect then crashed into a nearby ditch.
The sheriff's office says it's unsure if the suspect is injured from crashing the car or if they were grazed by a bullet.
