Suspected DUI driver arrested in deadly Sacramento crash

​Police said the driver was detained and showed signs of intoxication.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — One person is dead and another is behind bars after a deadly crash in Sacramento Saturday night.

According to Sacramento Police Department, the collision was reported just after 11:30 p.m. when a car hit a bicyclist in the area of Marysville Boulevard and Main Avenue. 

Arriving officers found a man who was ultimately pronounced dead on scene by first responders.

Police said the car took off before officers arrived, but it was found a short distance away.

Police said the driver was detained and showed signs of intoxication. Vicente Perez, 53 of West Sacramento, was arrested on related charges.

The victim in the collision hasn't been identified at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
