A woman who was shot during an attempted home invasion has died, succumbing to her injuries Tuesday night.
Sungaya Fleming, 38, was shot in the head Dec. 12 when a man attempted to break into a home along Myrtle Avenue, near American River College, police said.
Four people were injured in the shooting, including Fleming, when around 9 p.m., a man fired shots through a door at the home.
Police said there were 16 people inside the home at the time of the shooting, five of whom were children.
The shooting victims ranged in age from 15 to 39, police said.
Police have not yet found the suspect, though they do believe he was known by some inside the home.
The suspect is described as a black man in his 20s.
