A woman who was released Friday morning was arrested again on the same day after stealing a construction truck.

Tina Ross, 51, had just been released from Sacramento County Jail at 1:06 a.m. when she entered a heavy-duty construction truck on I and 5th Streets and fled the scene, according to Michael Bradley with the Sacramento Police Department.

Bradley said that police pursed Ross for over an hour. During the chase, two patrol vehicles sustained major damage.

Eventually, Sacramento police requested California Highway Patrol to take over the pursuit.

At 2:08 a.m. two CHP units took over pursuit and eventually disabled the vehicle at Stockton Boulevard and Florin Road, Bradley said.

After Ross locked the doors of the truck, officers approached the truck, broke the passenger side window and unlocked the doors.

Ross was taken into custody and transported back to Sacramento County Jail. She was booked on charges of auto theft, felony evading and resisting arrest according to Bradley.
